Prologue

Our love was a pure love, a very innocent love, like most you’d find on a playground at an elementary school.  Having met at the age of 3 Zac and I were best friends for most of our life. (Note how I said most). The first time we met we didn’t really like each other, or so I’m told.

The proof is actually evident in the home videos. I being the first and basically only child of my parents, my mother video taped every moment of my adolescent life. From birth, to birthdays, to my first steps, and my first words, so it really shouldn’t be that much of a surprise that my first play date is on video too.

Having watched the tape a million times I can tell you everything that happened in every moment, but that would take too long and most of it isn’t really relevant to the story. So I’ll just give you the short hand version.

It took place at my house, well my old house. My mom had agreed to watch Zac so Dianna could take Taylor and Isaac to the dentist. From what my moms told me Walker had abandoned his family 4 days prior to that, so she wanted to help Dianna in anyway she could, but I’ll get to that story later.

The play date was a typical one you’d expect to see from 3 year olds actually. There were a lot of “that’s mine!” and “gimme it!” oh and my fave “Stupid!”  Zac shouted that to me as I reached over and took his race car. Now don’t get me wrong we weren’t fighting the whole time. We did share some things, like the soil we got from my moms house plants or the boogers we poked from our noses. Yes we were that disgusting to each other at such a young age. Actually I’ll take full credit of the boogers, seeing as it’s on video there’s no use in my denying it, but Zac started it he’s the one who threw dirt at me first.

Our next play date was at the Hanson house. Isaac was still at school and Me, Zac, And Taylor were in the back yard playing on the swing set. It’s easy to tell that from early on Taylor loved girls. The video consisted of Taylor pushing while I swung on the swings, him getting me animal cookies and some milk and him helping me up when I fell. The cutest thing actually happened when he disappeared. Our mothers freaked, no one could find him, and then out of nowhere he appeared, with a ring pop in hand.

As it turns out Taylor’s mother bought them an assortment of candies to give them when ever they decided to ask “where’s daddy?” and with boys being boys neither Taylor nor Isaac would go near the ring pop saying it was a “girls” candy. So Taylor gave it to me with a kiss on the hand.  I of course took it with no question; I mean come on its candy.

The next few play dates were basically the same thing. Nothing with me and Zac changed until we began third grade. He beat up a boy who pushed me, okay well he tried to beat up the boy who pushed me. The fight lasted about 15 seconds; as it turns out when Zac’s mad he’ll basically hit anything in front of him, including me. Yes in his attempt to quote/unquote save me, Zac punched me in the arm. Zac felt so guilty that for the next week after that he gave me his chocolate pudding and walked me to and from school.

From then on we were inseparable. We conquered the rest of elementary school, which wasn’t that eventful. Well except for the fact that Zac broke his arm (twice), Taylor ran away from home (to my house), and Isaac got his tonsils out. See I told you, uneventful.

The excitement in our lives didn’t happen till middle school. That’s when our lives took a complete 180. Walker returned, Zac asked me to be his girlfriend, Taylor turned into a womanizing bastard (in his family’s eyes) and Isaac first tried drugs. I didn’t think things could get any worse, and then high school hit us.
